EVENT RECAP: Hosting Empire Strikes Baltimore!

Written by

What a fabulous night! I had an amazing time emceeing “Empire Strikes Baltimore,” a fundraising party to benefit University of Maryland University College’s Arts Program! Hosted by Galerie Myrtis, the night highlighted Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Virginia artist and honor artist  those featured on Empire; Jeffrey Kent, Jamea Richmond-Edwards and Arvie Smith. If you watch Empire, you probably have seen their beautiful artwork in the background. Pretty awesome if you ask me!

Attendees enjoyed the sounds of sultry vocals of Baltimore’s Joyce Scott, who was accompanied by keyboardist Derrick Thompson. The night also included impersonators of the "Empire" cast, Larkis Webber as Lucious Lyons and Tracey Farrar as Cookie Lyons! They did a fantastic job! I had blast hanging out with you guys and meeting my fellow art lovers! If you haven't already, please check out Galerie Myrtis! The gallery is AMAZING! Founded in 2006, Galerie Myrtis is a contemporary fine art gallery which represents emerging to mid-career artists who have achieved regional, national and international acclaim. You can find everything there!  From paintings, photography, sculptures and new media art with a concentration on politically and socially engaged artwork.

EVENT RECAP: Fashion Saves Lives

Written by

Happy November my loves! I can't believe the year is almost done! A few days ago, I had the pleasure of gracing the runway at the American Breast Cancer Foundation Fashion Saves Lives Fashion Show! I know it's been a while since my runway days but I never say no to charity! They don't call me "Motivational Moore" for nothing! The event raised thousands of dollars towards covering the costs of breast cancer screenings for people who are uninsured and unable to afford it. Models included breast cancer survivors, local celebrities, professional models and Baltimore city police and fireman!

Showcasing on the runway: Under Armour, Jos A Bank, Macy's White Marsh, Studio D' Maxsi, Party Dress Boutique, Christopher Schafer Clothier, Sykeo Designs and MB Design Gallery.

Special thanks to Eyes of Michael Photography for these great photos!

EVENT RECAP: Yoga Reggae Fest 2015

Written by

The Yoga Reggae Fest was a match made in heaven!  As you can imagine, I had a fabulous time as one of the host for their inaugural festival. Held at the Gateway DC, the festival was a huge hit attracting media attention from ABC 7, CBS Washington, News Channel 8, WTOP, KALI TV, Ablazin Radio and a host of other media outlets!

The all-day music and wellness festival is a fusion of live reggae music and yoga to bring health, relaxation and good vibes!

Patrons enjoyed local and international acts including headliner Third World, global yoga instructor Faith Hunter and fitness powerhouse Kamila McDonald!

This was pretty awesome since this was the first time the world has seen yoga and reggae come together at a festival! Yes we made history! LOL.

Founded by Anne Harrison, a yoga practitioner and instructor and Wally Kings, a seasoned Reggae event producer and educator, both partners advocate and practice holistic living that includes healthy eating, physical exercise, meditation and prayer on a daily basis.

Check out my video below on KALI TV and some of my favorite pictures by Sandy Abel and Kid Mix Photography. See you guys next year! For more info, visit www.yogareggaefest.com.

EMPIRE Season 2 Premieres Tonight!

Written by

EMPIRE hands down is one of the best shows on television. I’m not just saying that because I work for a FOX station but it’s the truth. From the juicy drama, excellent writing, music, guest appearances plus there is an undeniable strong chemistry between the cast! I also love how the show touches on  serious topics of the today's world. Race, sexuality you name it! EMPIRE Season 2 premieres tonight at 9/8c on FOX! I hope y’all ready!

I had an amazing time hosting the 2015 International Arts& Jerk Festival at the Baysox Stadium. Founded by the Caribbean Entertainment Network, over 3,000 patrons came out to enjoy the sounds of live music, interactive performances, tasty jerk cuisine, yummy wines and a host of vendors!

Even though it was a hundred degrees outside I had to make sure my fashion game was on-point! No excuses! LOL! I wore this comfortable and stylish cultural garb by Royal A. Fashion! The bold colors and exotic prints turned heads plus it’s super lightweight and breathable. Can’t go wrong with comfort when you’re hosting for 8 hours on a hot summer day!

Thanks to everyone who came out to the festival!  Can’t wait to hang out with you guys again!wink
