EVENT RECAP: AIDS WALK & RUN BALTIMORE

Written by

Baltimore, MD: I had the honor of emceeing Chase Brexton Health Care's second annual AIDS Walk & Run Baltimore! The event raised over $87,000 to expand HIV/AIDS education, testing, treatment and related care in the region. Despite the cold and rainy morning, over 400 participants came to the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore on Sunday, May 1, to walk, run and volunteer to support Chase Brexton.

Funds raised this year will help furnish two new mobile HIV testing, education and assistance vehicles, which were unveiled at the event. Proceeds from last year's event were used to purchase the two mobile units.Baltimore's rate of infection is 7.5 times higher than the national average, according to the CDC. HIV/AIDS is the fourth leading cause of death in the city of Baltimore, but at least one in six residents has not been tested for HIV. Baltimore City alone accounts for 41 percent of all new cases in Maryland.

For anyone who missed the event but would still like to donate to improve access to HIV/AIDS testing and care in Baltimore, Chase Brexton is accepting donations through June 30, 2016,atwww.BaltimoreAIDSWalk.org. Check out the promo below!

St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands: If you’re traveling to St. Thomas, consider a day trip to Lindquist Beach. Nestled in Smith Park Bay, a protected 21 acre beachfront park, Lindquist Beach is paradise for my fellow mermaids!

Lindquist Beach is stunningly beautiful! I was dazzled by the crystal calm water and soft sand. A major perk, Lindquist Beach isn't crowded! You won’t find any fancy restaurants or even bars here, just laid back island vibes surrounded by Mother Nature!

I literally spent days here! Relaxing, meditating and being one with the universe. Snorkeling can be founded on the right side of the beach. Let’s not forget the spectacular view of St. John and the British Virgin Islands!

Admission fees: Residents with ID$2. Non-Residents $ 5. Car parking $2. Children under 13 are free. If you love nature, than Lindquist Beach St. Thomas is a must! Visit my Facebook and  IG for even more photos @Chardellemoore! Cheers!

Baltimore, MD: Motivational Moore is in the building! Last Sunday, I had the honor of serving as the keynote speaker at From Girls to Women Summit, held at the Hilton Baltimore North-Pikesville.

Founded by the beautiful Michelle Davis, the summit is an annual event created to empower, inspire and uplift teen girls ages 13-18.

92Q radio personality DJ AngelBaby  hosted the event with DJ Shay on the ones and twos!

Attendees enjoyed hands on workshops, self-esteem building activities, live performances and a panel discussion featuring women leaders across diverse industries.

What I love about events like these is the fact they truly impact lives! Too many girls and young women struggle with low self-esteem! Let’s change that. It’s truly a blessing to be using my gifts to empower the community!  I had a blast!

British Virgin Islands: I was invited by Caribbean Posh Magazine to serve as a panel speaker for their first annual Posh Girl Power Brunch held at the luxurious Scrub Island Resort in beautiful British Virgin Islands!

Founded by Virgin Island native Janette Brin, Caribbean Posh Magazine is a cutting edge global Caribbean magazine. Covering all things fashion, beauty, culture, music, lifestyle and entertainment!

As a fellow island girl, I was truly honored to be a part of their inaugural event. Sharing my nuggets of wisdom in the television and entertainment business.

This brunch was both fun and informative! The first of its kind in the British Virgin Islands, the panel featured a dynamic lineup of Caribbean women from diverse industries including fashion, entertainment, marketing and more. Attendees enjoyed a wealth of information on entrepreneurship, branding, career advice to balancing personal and professional life.

It would not have been a Posh Girl event without a fab fashion show which I had the pleasure of hosting! The designers and models were absolutely stunning! Way to go ladies!

It was truly refreshing to be in a room filled with amazing queens! We laughed, cried, networked and bonded! Lord knows my journey has been far from easy but it's a blessings to inspire other women to pursue their passion!
