Silver Spring, Maryland: I’m absolutely in love with all things Caribbean! Our music, food, fashion, nature, vibes you name it! It’s my heritage and I’m always honored to emcee a variety of Caribbean events throughout the US and in the Caribbean!

This year, I had the pleasure of emceeing the 8th Annual Caribbean Style and Culture Fashion and Awards Showcase held at the Silver Spring Civic Building!

Founded by Cornel Jones, Karib Nation CEO & Founder, Caribbean Style & Culture is a fusion of fashion, music and art held annually in the month of June to commemorate and celebrate National Caribbean American Heritage Month. Yes, I know, I’m super late on this blog post! The fabulous fashion extravaganza brings the newest collections from the hottest Caribbean fashion designers showcasing the very best from the Caribbean and South American region!

Nine fashion designers came out to slay this year:

Andrew Harris –Guyana

Wadada Movement – Trinidad & Tobago

Mamayahi – Jamaica

Arthlene Lawrence –Dominica

Jelieyne Santana-Puerto Rico

Peta Odini- St. Vincent

This year’s show had something for everyone!  Elegant gowns, classic couture, vibrant patterns, bold swim wear, Afrocentric fashion and fly male designs!  The event was packed with socialites, VIPs and international elite.

Huge congratulations to Creative Director Chantney Renese for curating an incredible show! Her team did such a fantastic job! Slay on Queen!

For the night, I decided to rock a stunning gold gown by Award Winning Dominican Designer Arthlene Lawrence! This dress was everything!!!  Plus, it’s super comfortable! My make-up was provided by Celebrity Make-up Artist Mindy Green! This girl is so talented and I can’t wait for her to beat my face again!  Thank you ladies for making me look oh so fabulous!

Special thanks to Karib Nation for creating a platform for Caribbean creatives! Events like this are so important for the CULTURE! Looking forward to next year! Caribbean Style & Culture was featured on BMORE Lifestyle! Watch the video below!

Looking fabulous should be first and foremost about making yourself happy! I’m in LOVE with bright colors! You will rarely find me rocking all black! Just not my cup of tea. Bright colors make me feel so good plus they look fabulous on my skin tone!

This entire outfit was less than $40 bucks! YEP EVERYTHINGGGG!!! I snagged most of the items from the thrift store. Fashion is about the style and confidence not the price tag! I’ll be posting more about thrift store adventures in a future post!

So let’s talk hair! Rocking short hair is a big adjustment!!!! To be totally honest, I have my days where I love it and other days I’m like ugh but I do feel a new level of confidence!

Thanks for stopping by Chardellemoore.net! I’m determined to blog more about my evolution as a woman. Not just about my events and television interviews. I’m growing so much and I can’t wait to share it with you guys! Peace, love and light!

Ok guys! So you know I love me a good laugh!!!! I’m so exciting BAD BREED is coming to the DMV!  Woot! Woot!

BAD BREED is another hilarious comedy from the prolific pen of award-winning playwright David Tulloch and produced by Jam Stage Productions.

CAUTION ALERT: If you don’t like to laugh or have fun this play is not for you!  BAD BREED is loads of fun and a belly full of laughter! The comedy is at best an intimately revealing and entertaining roller-coaster, featuring some intensely dramatic moments and elicits big laughs in its more comedic ones. BAD BREED offers a thought-provoking meditation on the struggles and sacrifices of single fatherhood, the cost of deceit, and the price of dignity and budding love. Yep how can you go wrong! Created by award-winning playwright David Tulloch and produced by Jam Stage Productions!

Throw into the mix, themes like class and social cultures and you have a rollicking mix up and blender. We see Wilfred James wanting to marry Jackie Lawson but he is hindered by his son because his son still thinks that his late mother can’t be replaced. How the rest of it unravels will only blow your mind. The complexities of family, truth, love and opposition are prime themes for the piece.

The production is also directed by Tulloch who has been chalking up platitudes and accolades for his multi-faceted works in recent times. The cast features a wonderful display of powerful talent! Maxwell “Bashy” Grant, Terri Salmon, Michael “Stringbean” Nicholson, Akeem Poyser and Daneila “Teeta” Gordon.

I can’t wait to attend this play!!! For my Baltimore folks catch the fun Saturday, July 15th at Goucher College! DC crew the vibes continue Sunday, July 16th at The University of the District of Columbia! Both shows start at 7PM! Tickets are on sale now at https://www.caribbeanloyaltyrewards.com or call 888-200-7207. For an exclusive sneak peek check out the video below! See you guys soon!
